Job Overview

We are seeking an accurate and detail-oriented Medical Transcriptionist to join our diagnostic imaging team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for listening to oral dictations from our Radiologists and Sonographers and converting them into highly precise, formatted text reports. Your primary focus will be data integrity and maintaining the quick turnaround times necessary for high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Report Transcription: Transcribe complex audio recordings of ultrasound findings (including OB/GYN, abdominal, vascular, and musculoskeletal scans) into structured medical reports.
  • Quality & Accuracy Checks: Meticulously proofread and edit reports to ensure absolute accuracy in medical jargon, anatomical terms, and critical patient measurements.
  • Template Standardization: Apply standardized medical templates and formatting styles dictated by clinic protocols and radiological standards.
  • Queue Management: Monitor individual dictation queues to ensure all assigned files are processed within established daily timelines.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma or certification in Medical Transcription, Healthcare Documentation, or a related field.
  • 1–2 years of experience transcribing radiology or ultrasound specific dictations.
  • Strong command of medical terminology, anatomy, and diagnostic imaging phrasing.
  • High-speed typing skills with exceptional listening comprehension and attention to detail.

Preferred Skills

  • Expertise in understanding diverse accents and fast-paced dictations.
  • Proficiency with digital foot pedals and voice-recognition editing software.
  • Ability to work efficiently under tight turnaround deadlines without compromising quality.
